The 2009 game will be in St. Louis, who will be in their fourth season in Busch Stadium III (amazing how time flies). The Angels will host the 2010 game. The site of the 2011 game has not yet been announced. Selig intends to rotate the game one year at an AL park and the next at an NL park. So 2011 would be an NL park. There are newer ballparks in Phoenix, San Diego, Philadelphia and Cincinnati that have not yet hosted an All-Star Game. Philly has some clout having just won a World Series, but they also received a lot of national exposure through that. Do they need more via the ASG? And sorry to say, Arizona’s park is already a decade old, so the shine has worn off there. Obviously the Mets will push to have one soon at Citi Field. And other parks are already under construction in other cites, so we need to get on the ball and start lobbying to host one in DC.
